Bulk transfer facility opens in San Diego

November 3, 2015 By

The San Diego & Imperial Valley Railroad, a short-line freight railroad company that transports propane and other commodities, opened its Choice Terminal bulk transload facility.

The terminal, which is located in the company’s San Ysidro rail yard in San Diego, provides bulk transload customers with access to local and international markets via the railroad’s connection with BNSF Railway and the adjacent Tijuana border crossing.

According to a press release, the opening follows the expansion of the San Ysidro yard. The expansion provided the terminal with 50 railcar transload spots in a paved and fenced facility with an on-site transload contractor.
