CHS acquires Minnesota-based transport company

March 17, 2017 By

CHS Inc. purchased Western Co-op Transport Association, a bulk liquid transport company based in Montevideo, Minnesota.

Western Co-op Transport specializes in the transport of products such as propane, petroleum, ethanol and liquid crop nutrients. According to CHS, Western Co-op Transport is a member-owned cooperative that serves markets in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

“This acquisition strengthens our position in core markets and will allow us to expand our transportation and logistics services to create additional value for our owners and customers,” says Patrick Hessini, vice president of transportation and distribution at CHS.

As a result of the acquisition, Western Co-op Transport’s dispatch and routing operations will move to the CHS dispatch office in Rosemount, Minnesota. The Montevideo facility will remain in operation as a CHS-owned fleet service center, CHS says.
