Cleveland Petroleum Products acquires Propane Services

October 11, 2017 By

The Shawnee News-Star (Oklahoma) reported Cleveland Petroleum Products – parent company to Maltsberger Propane – acquired Propane Services, a propane transportation and service company.

“The purchase will better serve the needs of Propane Services customers in the Shawnee [Oklahoma] and surrounding area,” says Steve Southward, CEO of Cleveland Petroleum. “The purchase of the Shawnee facility fits into Cleveland Petroleum’s strategy to manage solid companies that represent safe and reliable resources for the propane industry.”

Established in 1975, Cleveland Petroleum Products is an independently owned propane, gasoline and diesel operation in Oklahoma with 19 other locations around the state.

According to Southward, the company has a contract with UPS for servicing propane-powered vehicles in the UPS fleet, including the UPS hub in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Southward says this investment also represents a strategic opportunity to offer UPS with continued infrastructure for its propane-powered vehicles. The company currently serves all 15 UPS facilities throughout the state.

“The acquisition also adds to our capacity and geographic presence to service oilfield customers,” he says.

According to the company, Propane Services will retain its original name.
