Crystal Flash acquires C. Barron & Sons

In what the company is calling its largest acquisition to date, Crystal Flash has acquired C. Barron & Sons Inc. of Monroe, Mich. The deal will bring more than 2,000 customers, 28 employees and four locations to the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based energy distribution company, which sold 16 million gallons of retail propane in 2012. The transaction is the sixth acquisition for Crystal Flash in the past 18 months and will allow the company to expand its product lines, customer base and geographic reach. Family owned and operated for more than 60 years, Barron provides fuel transportation services to retail and commercial customers throughout Michigan and into northern Ohio. Barron carries a full line of fuel products, lubricants and diesel exhaust fluids. The Charter Group served as the merger and acquisition adviser to Crystal Flash.
