Dixie Pipeline to expand capacity

August 8, 2018 By

Dixie Pipeline Co., an affiliate of Enterprise Products Partners, plans to expand the westbound transportation capacity of its pipeline system to Mont Belvieu, Texas, the company announced.

The project, which would involve the addition of pumping horsepower and related infrastructure, will increase capacity from 58,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 90,000 bpd. The expansion is scheduled to come online in March 2019.

Dixie is undertaking the expansion in response to increased shipper demand for westbound transportation services to the Mont Belvieu market. The incremental capacity will be made available to all shippers under Dixie’s currently applicable tariffs.

Dixie Pipeline Co. owns and operates a pipeline system spanning about 1,300 miles and extending from Mont Belvieu, Texas, to Apex, North Carolina. The pipeline, which also serves third-party terminals, storage facilities and delivery locations, is capable of transporting multiple products, but is primarily dedicated to propane transportation. The system also includes eight terminal locations with about 660,000 barrels of storage capacity.
