Energy Transfer Partners to build fourth fractionation facility

May 5, 2015 By

Lone Star NGL LLC, a subsidiary of Energy Transfer Partners, plans to build a fourth natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation facility in Mont Belvieu, Texas. Energy Transfer Partners estimates that the fractionator will cost about $450 million, and it expects the fractionator to be operational by December 2016.

According to a press release, the fractionator will be capable of handling 120,000 barrels per day and providing offtake for the 533-mile Lone Star Express Pipeline. The Lone Star Express Pipeline, which is currently under construction, will transport about 475,000 barrels per day of NGLs from the Permian’s Delaware and Midland Basins to Mont Belvieu, Texas, to accommodate Lone Star’s contracted NGL transportation volumes.

In addition, Energy Transfer Partners says a third Lone Star fractionation facility in Mont Belvieu remains on schedule for completion in January 2016.
