Enterprise investigates fire at natural gas processing facility

June 28, 2016 By

Enterprise Products Partners LP temporarily shut down its natural gas processing plant in Pascagoula, Miss., as the result of a fire that occurred inside the facility June 27. No injuries were reported.

The plant, which Enterprise had purchased outright fromĀ BP earlier this year, receives natural gas from third-party pipelines. It includes three trains with about 1.5 billion cu. ft. per day of capacity. The facility was averaging about 400 million cu. ft. per day of inlet volumes.

Enterprise says it is working with customers and third-party facility operators to make them aware of the situation and help determine other options while the plant is out of service.

Enterprise Products Partners LP is a publicly traded partnership and a North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, natural gas liquids, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. The company operates 24 processing plants in Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas and Wyoming.
