Ford Transit autogas system achieves EPA certification

July 20, 2015 By

Alliance AutoGas obtained Environmental Protection Agency certification for the Ford Transit’s 3.7-liter propane autogas system.

According to Blossman Services, a founding member of Alliance AutoGas, the bi-fuel system conversion on the Ford Transit is atypical in that no intake manifold drilling, cutting or splicing of wiring is required. The Ford Transit is the first engine to employ plug-and-play technology, the company adds, cutting installation time in half.

“The Ford Transit 3.7-liter bi-fuel autogas system conversion by far and away is Alliance’s largest and most popular platform yet,” says Ed Hoffman, president of Blossman Services. “The number of conversion requests exponentially exceeds all prior platform conversion requests we’ve ever seen.”

All Transit conversions come with quick-connect refueling valves, allowing for the use of low-emissions Euro-style nozzles.
