Georgia fleet making most of autogas development program

January 11, 2013 By

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office near Atlanta says it is saving an estimated $135,000 annually in fuel costs running 36 Ford Crown Victorias on propane autogas. The sheriff’s office is a Southeast Propane Autogas Development Program (SPADP) participant.

Carroll County first switched six cruisers to autogas through Alliance AutoGas in 2009. In 2010, the county received SPADP funding to convert an additional 30 vehicles.

Last year, Carroll County was awarded funding assistance for the conversion of 10 more vehicles through SPADP. Early into this year, the county expects to save $170,000 in annual fuel costs with its 46 fleet vehicles.
