Growmark subsidiary Star Energy acquires Siouxland Propane divisions

Star Energy, a subsidiary of Growmark Inc., has acquired the propane and heating, venting and air conditioning divisions of Siouxland Propane, a second-generation family company based in Ireton, Iowa. Star Energy added 5,000 residential and commercial propane customers in northwest Iowa and southeast South Dakota to its more than 12,000 customers in western Iowa, the Sioux City Journal reported. Star Energy retained Siouxland Propane’s 12 employees, according to the report. Siouxland Propane will continue to operate its lawn and garden division.
