Hess doubles operating capacity of North Dakota plant

May 21, 2014 By

Hess Corp. completed an expansion of its gas plant in Tioga, N.D., and was joined at a special event commemorating the expansion by a group of government officials that included Gov. Jack Dalrymple, R-N.D., and Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D.

According to a press release, Hess doubled the operational capacity of its Tioga facility. The project was part of a $1.5 billion infrastructure investment Hess made between 2012 and 2014 to expand production of propane, methane, butane, natural gasoline and ethane.

Hess says the plant is currently processing about 120 million cubic feet of gas per day, but that it expects to process at least 250 million cubic feet per day. The company previously processed about 100 million cubic feet of gas per day.
