John Deere kit converts mowers to propane systems

October 25, 2013 By

EnviroGard, a propane fuel systems developer, created a kit for landscape contractors who want to convert John Deere commercial mowers to propane. Kits can be purchased, and they’re available from John Deere dealers.

Kits are specifically available for John Deere ZTrak zero-turn mowers, QuikTrak stand-on mowers and commercial walk-behind mowers. EnviroGard is also providing dealer training to ensure the installation of each conversion kit adheres to Environmental Protection Agency standards. The kit meets Propane Education & Research Council requirements for funding – up to a $1,000 credit – and some units converted after the initial purchase may be eligible for a $500 credit.

In addition to new equipment, the kit can be used to retrofit many John Deere commercial mowers from previous model years. Contractors should visit a John Deere dealer to determine if a kit is available for their specific machine.

Good to see John Deere entering propane powered commercial mower business.
