Lone Star building fractionation facility at Mont Belvieu

November 7, 2014 By

Lone Star NGL LLC, a joint venture between Energy Transfer Partners LP and Regency Energy Partners LP, is constructing a third 100,000-barrel-per-day natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionation facility at Mont Belvieu, Texas, the companies announced. The fractionator is fully subscribed by multiple long-term contracts and is necessary to handle the increasing NGL barrels delivered via Energy Transfer Partners’ and Lone Star’s raw-make pipeline systems that gather NGLs from the Permian, Eagle Ford and North Texas production areas, according to a press release. Fractionator III, estimated to cost between $420 and $430 million, is scheduled to go online by December 2015.
