Golf outing another hit

August 1, 2008 By: LP Gas Magazine Staff LPGas

Despite rain on the final day, group basks at popular Florida golf resort

The Propane Golfers Association held its 24th annual outing June 19-21 at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla., just outside Tampa.

LPGas Magazine and the Propane Golfers Association sponsor the event, founded by retired LPGas Magazine Publisher and Editor Zane Chastain and propane industry colleagues. Propane industry suppliers, producers and retailers from across the nation participate each year. The group also welcomed Chastain back after he missed the 2007 event due to health reasons.

This year golfers were limited to 36 holes when heavy rain and thunderstorms canceled play on the final day. Jimmy Wilkins of Fueling Technologies Inc. posted the lowest score over two days, firing a 163. He shot 77 at Copperhead and 86 at the Island Course.
