Rita Pecilunas, a propane industry marketing strategist and event planning professional, has joined LP Gas magazine as a sales and marketing specialist to help the propane industry’s premier information source and market share leader continue its growth across multiple media platforms.
Pecilunas is the president of Strategic Marketing Resources and will work closely with LP Gas Publisher Brian Kanaba and the LP Gas team on key propane industry initiatives, including the LP Gas Growth Summit. Now in its third year of building propane partnerships, the LP Gas Growth Summit has expanded to three business tracks, requiring additional professional resources ahead of the Sept. 18-20 event at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Florida.
“Rita is a veteran marketing professional who maintains close ties with propane industry organizations and leaders,” says LP Gas Publisher Brian Kanaba. “We are confident that those ties and her energy, enthusiasm and strategic thinking will all play key roles as we look to expand LP Gas initiatives.”
Pecilunas’ experience in sales, marketing and event planning spans more than 30 years. She has worked throughout her career with the industry’s most established associations and organizations, including the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA), the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) and the World LPG Association.
Pecilunas spent 10 years with NPGA, joining the organization as director of marketing and later becoming vice president of marketing and member services. She managed numerous industry events and served as staff liaison to the public information, market development, and member services committees, as well as acting as the organization’s media spokesperson.
Pecilunas was instrumental in the conception and management of Pinnacle 2000, the industry’s largest educational conference that ran from 1995-2006. She managed NPGA’s Centennial Anniversary program that culminated in 2012 with a Clean Air Parade and autogas media event in Atlanta. NPGA also tasked her to help grow its Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo, the propane industry’s largest event, over a three-year period. Today, Pecilunas serves as a facilitator for the NPGA Benchmarking Council, an industry best practices organization.
With PERC, Pecilunas provided support during the check-off program’s launch in 1996. She represented the council at key trade shows in the residential market for nine years and served as a customer service and sales trainer for its Marketer Technology & Sales Training curriculum, educating propane marketers and supporting state associations. She also partnered with both the World and European LPG associations to grow their trade shows.
The Illinois native is attending the NPGA Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo on April 21-23 in Nashville, Tennessee. LP Gas will exhibit in booth No. 523.
