Marketing campaign, veteran employment garners retailer recognition

ILMO Products Co., an industrial, specialty and medical gases supplier with a propane division, was recognized with awards recently for a targeted marketing campaign and its employment of veterans.

Specifically, Blair Austin, the Illinois-based company’s marketing director, received the Best in Class Award in the Non-Paid Print Advertising category at the Targeted Advertising & Marketing Awards. Austin was recognized for her role in the promotion of ILMO’s 100th anniversary surprise, in which 97 employees were given $100 bills on the 100th day of the year.

Patty Curry, human resources director, was also recognized on behalf of the company. The National Economic Commission and American Legion recognized Curry and ILMO as an Employer of the Year for its employment of veterans. According to ILMO, about 10 percent of its 2012 workforce were veterans. The award was presented at the 95th annual Department of Illinois Convention in Springfield, Ill.
