Propane industry veteran receives NFPA honor

The NFPA Technical Committee on Liquefied Petroleum Gases named Sam McTier a member emeritus during the NFPA Standards Council meeting in April.

According to the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA), McTier has been involved in the propane industry since 1946 and has been a member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Liquefied Petroleum Gases since 1991. As one of three primary voting members from NPGA, he has been involved in determining the requirements that are published in all editions of NFPA 58.

McTier has received several other propane industry honors. He was inducted into the LP Gas Hall of Fame in 2012. He has also received NPGA’s Distinguished Service Award.
