Model home showcases propane power at Greenbuild event

October 27, 2014 By

Appliances and whole-home energy systems that use propane were in the spotlight at the 2014 Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, which took place last week in New Orleans.

The event featured a 1,550 square foot, three-bedroom, two-bath modular Greenbuild LivingHome that included a propane-powered tankless water heater, oven/range and backup generator.

The Propane Education & Research Council served as the title sponsor of the home. The building was designed to spotlight a variety of green building techniques and innovations that can be adapted to all sorts of projects. It met LEED v4 Platinum requirements.

Attendees who took guided tours of the home learned more about the propane-powered products, which were part of the Propane Energy Pod. This model for new-home construction merges space heating, water heating, cooking, fireplaces, and clothes drying into a whole-home energy package.

The Greenbuild LivingHome was designed and developed by LivingHomes. Take a virtual tour of the home here.
