The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) hosted its third installment of the Propane Autogas Vehicle Technician Training course June 14-16 at Linn-Benton Community College in Lebanon, Ore.

According to NAFTC, participants in the three-day entry-level propane autogas course received an in-depth understanding on how to service and maintain vehicles that run on autogas. The free course includes topics such as propane characteristics, fuel systems, vehicle compatibility, system components and safety.

NAFTC partnered with the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) to develop and provide the Propane Autogas Vehicle Technician Training course to automotive technicians nationwide. NAFTC’s training gives automotive service technicians an in-depth look at servicing and maintaining autogas-powered vehicles.

“PERC was thrilled to partner with NAFTC to create a formal course for students seeking knowledge on troubleshooting and maintaining propane autogas fuel systems,” says Stuart Flatow, PERC’s vice president of education and training, through an NAFTC statement. “Now, we are excited to roll the course out across the country and train these automotive technicians on how to work with this fuel.”
