NFPA Standards Council honors industry leader for service

The National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Standards Council is honoring William J. Young, Superior Energy Systems’ vice president of engineering, with its Committee Service Award during the NFPA Conference & Expo June 13-16 in Las Vegas.

NFPA is awarding 13 individuals, including Young, this week with Committee Service Awards or Special Achievement Awards for their outstanding service to the organization in the development of codes and standards. Young serves on the following NFPA technical committees:

  • Facilities for Fire Training & Associated Props (2015 to present)
  • Special Effects (1995 to present)
  • Liquefied Petroleum Gases (1991 to present)
  • LP-Gases at Utility Gas Plants (1990 to present)

According to Superior Energy Systems, Young has 52 years of experience in the gas industry. He has served as chief engineer for three vaporizer manufacturers throughout his career and has been involved in the sale, design, engineering, construction and service of LP gas equipment in domestic and foreign markets.
