Olympia school district in Illinois commits to autogas
The Olympia Community Unit #16 school district based in Stanford, Ill., committed to convert about one-third of its school bus fleet to propane autogas.
According to a press release, Olympia Community Unit #16 converted 12 of its 33 buses to autogas. Josh Olsen, the school district’s assistant superintendent, estimates each bus that runs on autogas saves the district about $2,500 per year on fuel and maintenance.
Evergreen FS, a propane retailer based in Bloomington, Ill., supplies the school district with autogas. The retailer installed and services four 1,000-gallon propane tanks at the school district.
