Oneok to build natural gas processing facility in North Dakota

July 31, 2014 By

oneok mapOneok Partners LP plans to invest up to $785 million to build a 200-million cubic-feet-per-day natural gas-processing facility and related infrastructure in McKenzie County, N.D. The facility is called the Demicks Lake plant, which Oneok expects to complete by the end of the third quarter in 2016. Oneok will process natural gas there that’s produced from the Bakken shale.

In addition, Oneok says it will build additional natural gas compression to take advantage of additional natural gas processing capacity at an existing processing plant and another planned plant. Twelve miles of natural gas liquids (NGL)-gathering pipeline will also be built as part of the project.

Oneok also announced that its Garden Creek III natural gas processing plant should be finalized by the end of this year. The plant, which is located within the same county as Demicks Lake, was originally scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2015.
