Owner of Heller’s Gas dies

June 12, 2018 By

Paul Gardner, owner of Heller’s Gas, died on May 18 at the age of 64. He had been battling brain cancer for about a year.

Prior to buying Heller’s Gas, Gardner worked for many years at Pargas and Suburban Propane in sales and management. He purchased Heller’s Gas, a family-owned company in Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania, in 1986 and grew the business into one of the largest family-owned propane companies in Pennsylvania.

Heller’s Gas now has nine branches in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Gardner served for many years on the Pennsylvania Propane Gas Association board of directors.

Gardner’s three sons – Joe Gardner, John Gardner and Paul Gardner Jr. – are all involved in the business. Paul Jr. is set to take over the reins of the company.
