Pennsylvania marketer debuts propane-powered service van

Ace-Robbins Inc., a propane marketer and HVAC contractor in northeastern Pennsylvania, took delivery of its first propane-powered service van, the company announced.

The 2012 Ford E-250 van with Roush CleanTech liquid propane autogas fuel system technology is expected to save the company $1.50 per gallon in fuel costs when compared with traditionally fueled vehicles.

“We found the Roush van to have several advantages over the other options,” says Abe Kukuchka, director of distribution at Ace-Robbins, in a press release.

“First, this van has the same weight as gasoline-powered versions of the same model and a lower weight than versions fueled by compressed natural gas,” he says. “Additionally, it qualifies for a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle II emissions rating. These are important factors that all fleet managers must consider.”
