PERC approves funding requests, appoints councilors

At its July meeting in Denver, the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) approved several funding requests, many of which focus on autogas and propane appliances.

TheĀ approved funding requests include:

  • $3,608,694 for a change order to help fund the development and demonstration of a high-efficiency, high-performance, ultra-low NOx, medium-duty propane engine for class 5-7 trucks, including bobtails.
  • $199,200 for a project that will test effects of clean-fuel conversion on emissions and performance of propane-fueled engines and vehicles (West Virginia University/Center of Alternative Fuels Engines and Emissions).
  • $75,000 for the commercialization of thermally driven heat pumps for the residential space and water heating (SMTI).
  • $59,474 for a change order to complete work on the development of Certified Employee Training Program book 4.6 Advanced Propane Appliance Service Troubleshooting (Dashe & Thomson).
  • $25,000 for a change order to complete video development work on a stand-alone cylinder requalification training program (Dashe & Thomson).

PERC also added two new councilors, including Scott Brockelmeyer of Ferrellgas and Gary France of France Propane.
