Conferences feature propane vehicles

June 2, 2010

In the past two months, the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) has exhibited propane-fueled vehicles and products at six fleet conferences with assistance from Ferrellgas, AmeriGas, Blossman Gas, Heritage Propane, Roush Performance, CleanFuel USA and A-Z Bus Sales.

More than 11,000 fleet managers, transportation leaders, policymakers, researchers and other industry representatives attended the conferences. Many took the opportunity to get behind the wheel of fleet vehicles that run on propane. At five of the conferences, a PERC representative spoke about propane infrastructure, refueling, available vehicles, vehicle technology, safety and environmental impact. The events generated many quality sales leads for more vehicles.

Display vehicles included a G-4500 cutaway van, an E-250 cargo van, an E-350 van, an F-250 pickup truck and a Cub Cadet lawn mower – all running on propane.

The conferences were the National Trucking Equipment Association’s Work Truck Show, the NAFA Fleet Management Association’s Institute & Expo, the BevOps/Beverage Fleet Summit, the American Public Transportation Association’s Bus & Paratransit Conference, the Alternative Fuels & Vehicles National Conference & Expo 2010 and Ohio State University’s Moving Ahead 2010 conference.
