Propane Engine Fuel Summit motors into Long Beach, Calif.

June 8, 2011 By

PERC highlighted vehicles fueled by propane autogas during the Propane Engine Fuel Summit held last month in Long Beach, Calif., ahead of the Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo. The two-day event featured panel discussions from manufacturers of propane vehicles, dispensing equipment and tanks as well as current propane fleet users. It was designed to give fleet managers a better understanding of the advantages of propane-fueled vehicles. About 75 people attended the event, and more than 400 viewers logged on to a live webcast each day.
Summit sessions highlighted the variety of refueling options available to meet a fleet’s needs and the federal tax incentives and other funding that supports propane autogas. Delta Liquid Energy, a propane retailer headquartered in Paso Robles, Calif., hosted a tour of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s propane autogas fueling station, one of Southern California’s largest stations. The ACT Expo, which drew more than 1,300 attendees over three days, included exhibits and presentations on the latest developments in alternative fuels.
