Propane-fueled grain dryer boasts upgrades

April 12, 2017 By

Mathews Co.’s Next Generation Legacy Series grain dryers feature similar advantages to the company’s tower-style dryers. Mathews developed its latest grain dryer through a Propane Education & Research Council grant. Key upgrades include a redesigned fan, burner and control system. The in-line, belt-driven centrifugal fan now features a design that allows for more reliable airflow. The company also upgraded the burner to ensure it is placed in a location relative to airflow. Additionally, the LP gas vaporizer was repositioned and can now be adjusted from outside the dryer. Upgraded ladders, safety cages and service platforms now enable easy and safe access to the dryer. The Next Generation Legacy Series grain dryer is available in seven model sizes, with drying capacities ranging from 700 to 5,600 bushels per hour.
