Opportunities

Propane Resources surveyed 384 retail propane marketers from across the United States asking them the following questions about opportunities they have had with their businesses. We received responses from 11 companies. Here is what they had to say:

Outcomes:

We were interested to know if opportunity knocked, would propane retailers respond? Survey results confirm that retailers would take advantage, especially where a new start-up business, satellite offices/locations, diversifying or selling their business were concerned.

Whether it was adding a satellite location that improved efficiencies and gallons sold, to starting a new equipment rental business, or selling the 50-year-old company to a new owner who retained the existing employees, 82 percent of respondents got the results they desired.

Due to the overall success of opportunities taken, 82 percent of respondents to this survey said they would definitely take advantage of additional opportunities that presented themselves in the future.

One retailer stated, “We’re always looking to enhance services and our bottom line.”

Another said, “Every time something challenging comes along, everyone gets more energized and wants to do better.”

What will you do the next time opportunity knocks?
