Revere remembered fondly by friends, peers

June 14, 2015 By

Charlie Revere’s death was sudden and unexpected to the staff here at LP Gas. We had, after all, just seen Revere, president of Virginia-based Revere Gas, at the LP Gas Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Atlanta a couple of months earlier.

What wasn’t unexpected following Revere’s death was the outpouring of comments and condolences from the propane industry. More than 40 people shared their memories of the propane retailer with us on Facebook in the days following Revere’s death.

Those who weighed in on Facebook describe Revere as a “wonderful man” and a “friend to all who knew him.” One person wrote, “[He] treated everyone with respect.” Another wrote, “A greater man has not been born.”

Some mentioned his work in the propane field. “The industry lost a Titan! Sorry to see you go, Charlie,” one message read. “Revere Gas is the reason I still heat my home with gas,” wrote a customer.

The outpouring of grief and sympathy are a testament to Revere’s personality and influence. The tributes illustrate how Charlie Revere treated his family, friends and customers.

LP Gas was honored to provide a forum for the heartfelt messages many felt compelled to write. We know the industry lost a giant, and he will be missed.
