Sliding vane autogas pumps allow for use of multiple sizes, types of flanges

November 20, 2014 By

BlackmerBlackmer upgraded its LGL150 Series sliding vane pump models to a “C” version. In addition to an American National Standards Institute-style flange, Blackmer now offers a square four-bolt flange similar to the flanges used on many other Blackmer pumps. According to the company, the four-bolt flange design allows for the use of multiple sizes and types of flanges – 1.25 inch, 1.5 inch and 2 inch – in both National Pipe Thread and weld flanges. The pump’s relief valve was also repositioned to create adequate space for inlet and discharge pressure gauges to be installed without using extensions. Additionally, the mounting foot on the pump casing was removed to lighten the pump and avoid the confusion of trying to use the pump mounting foot for installation. Blackmer designed a new “C”-face motor adapter/bracket, as well, that’s designed to make it easier to bolt an LGL150 Series pump into the existing footprint of competitive models when using the optional mounting adaptor/riser.
