Southcross completes second propane pipeline

August 5, 2013 By

Dallas-based Southcross Energy Partners L.P. has completed a new propane pipeline connecting its Bonnie View fractionator in Refugio County, Texas, to Enterprise Products Partners L.P., Southcross announced. It is Southcross’ second pipeline outlet, in addition to its pipeline connection to Dow Chemical Co., for the delivery of propane.

Southcross also has completed its new 9.5-mile, 16-inch diameter pipeline that extends north from its Bee Line pipeline. The extension provides Southcross increased access to Karnes County, which is one of the most prolific rich gas producing counties in the Eagle Ford shale, as well as direct connection to other parties’ pipelines transporting volumes from the western Eagle Ford area.

Additionally, Southcross has commenced construction of a 3.5-mile pipeline addition to its McMullen County system, broadening its supply reach for rich Eagle Ford gas. A new gas supply contract anchoring the pipeline project will provide in excess of 15 million cubic feet per day of new liquids-rich gas supply to Southcross’ processing and fractionation complex starting in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Southcross’ rich gas pipeline system in South Texas accesses the Eagle Ford production area as well as a large legacy production area and feeds Southcross’ processing and fractionation plant complex near Corpus Christi, Texas.
