Southeastern show attendance climbs for second straight year; new app popular

April 30, 2014 By

More than 2,900 people attended this year’s Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, according to the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA).

The total attendance figure, which represents trade show attendees, exhibitors, speakers, staff and guests, is up more than 3.5 percent from last year’s 2,790 mark and up more than 11.5 percent from the show’s total attendance in 2012. Of the total attendees, about 1,400 were propane marketers, NPGA says – the highest mark since nearly 1,500 attended in 2007.

In addition, 220 companies exhibited at this year’s show, consistent with last year’s total, taking up more than 58,000 square feet of exhibit space at the Congress Center.

One new addition to the 2014 show was NPGA’s Expo App for smartphones. NPGA says the app received 629 downloads and that users were highly engaged with it.

Next year’s Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo, scheduled for April 11-13, returns to Atlanta. The show then shifts to Nashville, Tenn., in 2016 – at least for one year – following more than 60 Southeast propane shows in Atlanta.
