Suburban Propane acquires Florida-based Propane USA

Suburban Propane Partners LP acquired the assets and affiliate companies of Propane USA, a propane retailer based in Margate, Fla., for $45 million.

Mark Wienberg, Suburban Propane’s chief development officer, says the acquisition will expand the company’s footprint on the east and west coasts of southern Florida. Through the acquisition, the company will gain about 7,600 residential and commercial customers and about 4.7 million gallons of retail propane sales to the partnership’s operations in Florida.

Suburban Propane serves about 1.1 million residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers in 700 locations in 41 states. It’s the third-largest propane retailer in the country, with more than 500 million gallons in annual propane sales.
