Sunoco Logistics hosts open season for Mariner East 2 project

September 14, 2015 By

Sunoco Logistics Partners LP commenced a binding open season Sept. 10 for its Mariner East 2 expansion project.

According to a press release, the open season is for expanded capacity on the Mariner East 2 system. The system will be able to transport additional volumes of petroleum products such as natural gas liquids and condensate from processing facilities built in the Marcellus and Utica Shale areas in eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia to Sunoco Logistics’ Marcus Hook Industrial Complex on the Delaware River.

Depending on customer interest, the open season offers service for ethane, propane, butane, propane-plus, natural gas and condensate. Refined product movements will be considered if there is sufficient shipper interest.

The Mariner East 2 expansion project will likely start operations as early as 2017. Sunoco Logistics adds that priority service will be available to shippers making long-term volume commitments during the open season.
