May 9, 2018 By

ThompsonGas, headquartered in Frederick, Maryland, acquired J.I. Banker Gas Service, a propane provider in northwest Missouri.

ThompsonGas says it is committed to serving the residential, commercial and industrial customers who have valued J.I. Banker’s presence in the region for over 70 years.

“The Wahlert family has built a company through three generations with strong values and a commitment to customer service,” says Derek Ashmore, regional vice president of ThompsonGas. “The opportunity to carry on this legacy is truly an honor and we are excited to have John, Craig and Liz Wahlert join our team.”

This is the second acquisition for ThompsonGas in 2018 and its fourth in Missouri.

“We are happy to continue our expansion into Missouri and the Midwest as a whole,” Ashmore says. “This acquisition will allow us to strengthen our service offering to customers to include better efficiencies, enhanced fuel ordering technology and a better overall value for our newly acquired customers.”

George Koloroutis, CEO of ThompsonGas, adds, “The strong communities in Missouri make it an excellent place to do business. The entire team at ThompsonGas is looking forward to expanding our investment in the region and provide our customers with the best products and services available on the market.”

ThompsonGas now serves more than 130,000 customers in 18 states.
