ThompsonGas makes third acquisition of 2018

ThompsonGas LLC acquired ER Energy Inc., a propane provider in California, Nevada and Washington.

“We’ve known Ken Foster and ER Energy for several years, and have great respect for his team and their accomplishments,” says Jeff Kerns, CEO of ThompsonGas. “Ken’s family-oriented approach to his business is a perfect complement to the same principles that drive ThompsonGas’ daily business: trust and service. We intend to continue serving ER Energy’s customers in the same manner.”

This is the third acquisition for ThompsonGas in 2018.

“My company, ER Energy, is a propane distributor with multiple locations across the Pacific Northwest,” says Foster, CEO of ER Energy. “It became apparent that the ThompsonGas model would be a good, long-term fit for my employees, customers and vendors.”

The acquisition expands the company’s reach to now serve 20 states. Corner Capital Advisors, based in Santa Barbara, California, and Houston, advised ER Energy on the transaction.
