United Pacific Energy to purchase California rail terminal

June 13, 2016 By

Enterprise Products Partners and United Pacific Energy entered into an agreement for the sale of the Enterprise Bakersfield LP gas rail terminal.

According to United Pacific Energy, the Bakersfield terminal will complement the company’s existing asset base and will serve as a valuable link in the supply chain for providing fuel to its customer network in the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California. The transaction is expected to close in the next few weeks.

“We are very excited to have the [Bakersfield] terminal back in the family,” says David Humphreys Jr., sales manager of United Pacific Energy. “My grandfather, Wayne Harlan, built the Bakersfield facility when he owned Coast Gas.”

United Pacific Energy launched in 1990, serving as a wholesale propane company in California. The company is a partner with Sheldon Gas on a terminal in Fairfield, Calif., and also markets another terminal in Anderson, Calif.
