Valve lock offers security

March 11, 2011 By

Highfield Manufacturing Co. offers a tool to fight tampering and vandalism involving wing and wing-less gas service valves, found in residential and commercial environments. The company’s Saddle Lock incorporates a number of design innovations, including cast-hardened, plated steel construction that make it more robust, durable and less susceptible to prying open. Safety features include a redesigned cap that covers the entire head and stem of the valve and a “shroud” to protect the head of the barrel lock. Also, the barreal lock receptor has been reconfigured to keep the barrel lock from being compromised. The Saddle Lock accepts any Highfield standard length barrel lock and secures most ½-inch through 1¼-inch gas service valves.
