Anesi gas heat pump from Stone Mountain Technologies

Stone Mountain Technologies Inc. (SMTI) offers the Anesi brand of high-efficiency gas absorption heat pumps, known for their steady operation in cool and cold climates, 140 percent AFUE rating and their ability to reduce fuel consumption, energy costs and carbon emissions. The company has designed the gas heat pump to outperform its electric counterpart in cool and cold climates. SMTI’s 80,000-Btu gas heat pump, fueled by propane or natural gas, is its introductory product for residential and light commercial applications, with plans to scale up unit sizes. With gas absorption, the system is leveraging combustion heat to capture additional energy from the outdoor air. SMTI says the gas heat pump will allow the propane industry to retain customers who might otherwise consider switching to an electric heat pump.
