Digital gauges as a standard from Manchester Tank

Manchester Tank & Equipment Co. will transition to Rotarex digital gauges on all 420-pound and horizontal propane tanks beginning this summer. The company featured the digital gauges at this year’s NPGA Southeastern & International Propane Expo.
The adoption of this digital-ready standard is intended to improve consistency in tank-level visibility and, according to the company, aligns with the future of the industry: smarter, more proactive operations. Making digital gauges a standard feature on its tanks will ensure reliability, accuracy and safety in the propane industry, Manchester Tank adds.
“The industry needed someone to take the plunge in making it the new standard,” says Manchester Tank President Jordan de Lima. “We believe in quality; we believe in accuracy; we believe in safety. Let’s just make it the standard.”
Customers should note the change will not impact flexibility. Manchester Tank will continue to provide the tank and gauge hardware, and customers can choose the telemetry and monitoring solutions that best fit their needs.
As the company celebrates 80 years of tank manufacturing, de Lima sees digital gauge technology as an important step in the continued evolution of its business.
“Throughout our history, Manchester Tank has been driven by innovation – continually improving how tanks are built, used and supported in the field,” he says. “We are energized by what this next chapter brings and look forward to sharing more about this transition and its benefits.”
A part of the McWane companies, Manchester Tank & Equipment Co. is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and refurbisher of low-pressure steel and aluminum DOT cylinders and ASME pressure vessels for the safe storage and transport of propane, chemicals, compressed air and other industrial applications since 1946. The company’s headquarters are located in Franklin, Tennessee, with plants in Campbellsville, Kentucky; Quincy, Illinois; Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; Scoudouc, New Brunswick, Canada; and Sri City, India.
