Aaron Huizenga looks back at the propane industry’s 2025

We have had some milestones in our careers and in our businesses. Some of us had a good winter in January, which was very helpful. We had another well-planned and informative National Propane Gas Association Southeastern & International Propane Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the spring. At Propane Days in Washington, D.C., we celebrated some victories over electrification this year on the legislative front with the new administration.

We created some memories and some stories in the book of our lives. For some, we lived those stories, and at times we shared those stories with others for their growth and benefit. Together, through the articles in this magazine, we discussed time management and getting the most out of every day. We looked at capturing single moments in your life to help enhance the lives of those around you. We learned about leadership styles in the summer – what they are, how to use them and how to shift from one style to another. When fall approached, we discussed warp-speed productivity and taking control of your time as your most valuable resource. We discussed ideas on clearing out mental clutter and ushering in the next generation of leaders through mentorship.

Personally, I learned some new things about myself and leadership as I did research for these articles. I was able to meet a number of new people in the industry at events and conferences. I lost a few loved ones during this trip around the sun. And I saw a few new places in this amazing country and loved every single minute of it.

One of the main themes for this year was accomplishing something, or many somethings, be it personally or professionally. How to define success and what to do when we fall short of our goals. Taking on the mindset that moving forward toward a goal is a long road. During that journey, there will be missteps and mistakes, but learning to take those mistakes and turn them into learning opportunities. Being able to reframe our mindset that failures are not final. It is only final if you give up and quit. We need to take them not as the end, but as opportunities to learn, and then take that newfound knowledge and use it to our benefit to make better decisions in the future.

Lastly, I wanted to say thank you for all the emails, texts and feedback from those who get something from what I share here. It’s nice to know that someone is reading them and finding value. You fuel my desire to keep this going.

Thank you all for 2025.

I’m looking forward to more in 2026.

Let’s work on your upgrade!
