Bergquist showcases reinforced thermoplastic pipe

March 29, 2023 By

Reinforced thermoplastic pipe (RTP), available from Bergquist Inc., features a three-layer system designed for chemical compatibility, strength and protection during the transfer of liquid propane. Benefits of RTP include durability, corrosion resistance, longer lifespan, light weight and easy to install. The first layer of the pipe is a polyamide core, compatible with liquid and vapor propane. The second layer is an aramid fiber weave around the polyamide tube to provide strength. The third layer is a polypropylene jacket to protect the weave layer against external damage. RTP comes in three sizes: 1.25-in., 1.5-in. and 1.75-in. OD. The length currently maxes at 1,500 ft. RTP is included in the 2023 edition of NFPA 58. Bergquist will showcase RTP at the NPGA Propane Expo (booth #543).
