Blue Cow Software enhances payment processing capability

The Ignite Pay payment processing application by Blue Cow Software now offers utility rates on the processing of payments made using American Express. Currently, applicable utility rates for businesses in Merchant Category Code 4900 Tier 1 are 0.00 percent plus $0.75 per transaction, and rates for Tier 2 are 1.50 percent with no fee per transaction. By making it easier and less expensive to accept American Express card payments through Ignite Pay, dealers gain more flexibility to accept a wider range of payment options from their customers, according to the company. Mike Procopio, inside sales manager for Blue Cow’s parent company PDI Technologies, notes that misclassified propane and heating oil dealers may be paying the higher consumer interchange rate fees for American Express, which are about 2.80 percent plus $0.10 per transaction.
