Cavagna Group closes acquisition of 51 percent stake in Gas Measurement Group

Cavagna Group, a global provider of flow control and pressure regulation technologies for gases, completed the acquisition of a 51 percent stake in Gas Measurement Group (GMG), a European industrial group specialized in gas measurement, calibration systems and metering systems.
The transaction brings together highly complementary capabilities in flow control, pressure regulation and high-precision metering, significantly expanding the group’s industrial and technological capabilities across the natural gas sector.
GMG Group includes Flow Meter Group (FMG), Flocaltec, Transus Instruments, Global Gas Solutions (GGS Oil & Gas Systems), Mechatest and GTA, and holds equity interests in Euroloop and Ex-i Flow Measurement.
The group designs and manufactures rotary, turbine and ultrasonic meters. It also produces flow computers and designs and delivers complete metering and sampling systems, as well as certified calibration facilities.
Through this transaction, Cavagna Group says it is strengthening its market positioning by entering the high-precision gas metering segment and expanding its offering toward fully integrated end-to-end solutions combining pressure regulation, volume and quality measurement, flow computing and metrological validation.
The combination also creates a global “one-stop shop” for gas companies and utilities, equipment distributors, system integrators and EPC contractors, leveraging the combined expertise of Cavagna Group and GMG across the entire natural gas value chain, according to the companies.
“This transaction marks a key strategic milestone for Cavagna Group,” says Davide Cavagna, CEO of Cavagna Group. “With GMG, we are creating a global platform that combines technological excellence, strong R&D capabilities and a broad industrial footprint. This will enable us to accelerate innovation and further strengthen our position as a partner of choice for the industry while maintaining the agility required to deliver tailored, on-demand solutions that consistently meet and exceed market standards.”
“Our strength lies in decades of experience developing high-precision measurement solutions and complete metering systems, combined with a deep understanding of what customers in this industry truly need,” adds Roger Fisher, president of GMG Group. “This transaction allows us to bring these capabilities into a broader global context while preserving what has always set us apart: our engineering-driven culture and our commitment to delivering excellent, tailored service.”
The combined group expects the transaction to generate both commercial and industrial synergies through global cross-selling opportunities, supply chain integration and a strengthened competitive positioning.
GMG’s management team will remain an integral part of the group’s development, ensuring continuity and supporting future growth initiatives.
