Godfrey Rajool, who has more than 30 years of experience in the industry as a business manager, will head the business unit.

Local operations began Dec. 1, 2021, with the business office established in the Hyde Park business district of Johannesburg.

“Africa is an important continent for the group, and it is important that we have a local presence,” Rino Cavagna, the executive vice president of sales, says. “This new Cavagna Group subsidiary gives us the added value of a strategically placed hub with an efficient and local team to support the SADC region.”

The new subsidiary will represent and promote Cavagna Group’s business in the LPG markets, industrial gases, medical gases, natural gas regulation, metering and engineering services.

Finished products and spare parts will be stocked through a distribution center located in Johannesburg and Cape Town industrial areas.

It also will oversee the recent acquisition of the REPCo Group, based in Milano, Italy, which is already servicing clients in the region.

Cavagna Group provides integrated solutions for the control, regulation, metering and storage of compressed gases. It was founded in 1949 in northern Italy, near Brescia.
