Conger LP Gas has expanded its footprint in south Georgia with the opening of a fourth location. The company celebrated the grand opening of its new Moultrie location in late May with a showroom overview and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We had been in the area for many years without an office, and we had grown to the point that we really needed something for our customers,” says Conger LP Gas President and CEO Dan Richardson.

Similar to the company’s Tifton office that opened in November 2018, the new location features fireplaces and gas log sets, a tankless water heater display, gas cooktops and clothes dryers.

“A lot of these features were something our building contractors wanted us to have so that they can meet customers at our new office and decide what they want in their homes,” Richardson says. “We can give them a total appliance package for a competitive price.”

The new location is using about 1,800 sq. ft. of space for the showroom and office space, but the entire building is 6,000 sq. ft.

“The square footage gives us a lot of options,” Richardson says. “We have the capability that we can expand that display area later on or in a few years.”

For example, Richardson says he envisions expanding the Moultrie location’s display area to mimic the Tifton office, which includes a demonstration kitchen for cooking and cake decorating classes.

For the new office, Conger hired its first bilingual employee, Janie Rosales, as a customer service representative.

“Moultrie has a large Hispanic community and Janie Rosales brings a much needed asset to our company,” Richardson says. “People want to shop and do business where they feel comfortable.”

Richardson says potential customers who don’t use propane are the company’s prime growth target. He says Conger uses tankless water heaters as the first step to get into a home and then adds on from there.

“We are already looking at some other areas where there’s not a lot of propane being used,” he says. “There is such a large percentage of people who do not have any propane in their home, so the opportunities are endless right now.”

Conger LP Gas is an independent propane company serving more than 7,000 residential, commercial and agricultural customers in 30 counties across southern Georgia. The other three locations include Tifton, Sylvester and Vidalia.
