Energy industry veteran retires after 41 years of service

Neil Bianco from Star Group is set to retire after 41 years of service in the energy industry, including work with oil and propane.

Bianco began his career as a credit manager at Whaleco in 1977. In 2010, Bianco joined Star Group as a senior vice president of Champion Energy following its acquisition. In the three years following the acquisition, Bianco navigated the integration of the Champion family of businesses and its management team.

Additionally, Bianco was a part of several propane company acquisitions over the last five years.

He served as vice president of the Metropolitan Energy Council, chaired National Oilheat Research Alliance committees, acted on the board of the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association and several other state associations, and was a founding member and vice president of the American Energy Coalition.

In retirement, Bianco will spend time with his wife of 50 years, Patricia, as well as his four daughters, four son-in-laws and 12 grandchildren.
