Ferrellgas expands partnership with Operation BBQ

February 3, 2022 By

National propane retailer Ferrellgas has expanded its partnership with Operation BBQ Relief. Blue Rhino, a propane tank exchange and subsidiary of Ferrellgas, originally established a propane partnership with the charity in 2012.

Volunteers with Operation BBQ Relief provide meals to first responders and communities affected by natural disasters. The charity was formed in 2011 in the aftermath of an EF-5 tornado that impacted Joplin, Missouri.

“We continue to rely heavily on Blue Rhino barbecue tanks but we’re also bringing in industrial-sized smokers that require a larger power source,” Operation BBQ Relief co-founder and CEO, Stan Hays, says. “Ferrellgas has already supported recent deployments, including the December 2021 tornado response in western Kentucky. We’re thrilled to have formalized this expanded partnership and look forward to continuing to work with this great company to serve the healing power of barbecue to those affected by disasters.”

Blue Rhino’s home delivery service now operates in 13 U.S. cities including Long Island; Atlanta; Dallas; Denver; Oklahoma City; Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota; Mobile, Alabama; Raleigh, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; Springfield, Massachusetts; Tampa Bay, Florida; West Palm Beach, Florida; and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
