Icom North America is supporting Freightliner S2G and C2 8-liter and 8.8-liter gasoline and propane-powered vehicles. The company supplies remanufactured engines, transmissions and propane parts to Freightliner S2G and C2 customers.

“Recognizing the high demand and wait times for 8-liter and 8.8-liter gasoline and propane engines and parts, we offer cost-effective, reliable, OEM-quality remanufactured engines with a fast three-to-five-day turnaround,” says Brandon Thorn, engineering manager. “Each engine undergoes a thorough overhaul – disassembled, inspected, cleaned and rebuilt to meet or exceed OEM standards – ensuring like-new performance and extended lifespan.”

According to the company, this offering is designed to keep propane-powered vehicles running smoothly, reduce maintenance costs and improve operational efficiency. Key benefits include:

  • Technical support: Icom provides technical support to ensure optimal performance and troubleshooting for all Icom products and services.
  • Enhanced propane parts selection: Icom also offers a range of propane-specific components, including fuel system components and replacement propane tanks for the S2G.
  • Extended engine warranty: The company’s remanufactured engines and transmission systems are tailored for Freightliner S2G and C2 propane and gasoline vehicles, ensuring compatibility, durability and peak performance. Icom offers a three-year/100,000-mile limited warranty on its remanufactured engines and transmissions.

“We have been dedicated to providing essential support to propane marketers, ensuring their bobtails stay on the road despite a market with limited resources and parts,” says Albie Venezio, director of technical services at Icom North America. “Through strong partnerships, we have successfully addressed the challenges of the S2G and C2 school bus – for both gasoline and propane versions – and now offer a variety of parts and engines to keep them running smoothly.”
